The Dream Center has been assisting Pickens County families in powerful, life-altering ways since 2012. A primary focus is a mentoring program for people living in poverty. The program empowers people to make different choices by offering incentives, rewards, and guidance in budgeting, money management, parenting, and employment.
Now YOU can help The Dream Center further their impact and become financially self-sustaining simply by doing what you already enjoy: shopping.
The needs among Pickens County families are great. When our local partners are financially equipped, they can pour resources directly into the programs that bring restoration to familes and communities.
That’s why Pickens County First Steps is thrilled to announce the GRAND OPENING of The Dream Center Resale Shop November 5th!
Here’s a sneak peek:
The Dream Center Resale Shop is not your typical “thrift store.” They have collected beautiful higher-end, on-trend housewares, furniture, clothes, and accessories and priced them so affordably. Volunteers have worked hard to create a lovely and up-to-date aesthetic that doesn’t have a typical thrift store feel.
I attended their “soft opening” last week and came home with these gorgeous throw pillows, all for $11.
Now you can furnish your home and your wardrobe affordably while also giving back to your community!
How can you help support The Dream Center’s new resale shop?
- Donate desirable items that are still up-to-date and in great condition. {You can feel great about donating those items in your closet that still have the tags on them or that you’ve hardly worn.}
- Volunteer. Because all proceeds directly support The Dream Center, the resale shop relies heavily on regular volunteers.
- Shop!
- Spread the word. Share this post on social media. Like The Dream Center on Facebook. Text your friends about the great deals you got.
The shop is conveniently located on Hwy 123 in Easley in front of The Quality Inn.
All proceeds go to support the ministries of The Dream Center.

Follow them on Facebook to stay up to date with the shop, volunteering, and news about the specific ways they are serving families in Pickens County. The holidays are a perfect time to give of our time and resources and teach our children about the importance of sacrificial generosity.
We highly recommend signing up for their newsletter at the bottom of this page to stay up with events, personal stories, and opportunities.
